Because our work involves both archival document curation and active on-site restoration mapping at historic palaces, our facilities operate on distinct seasonal research cycles. These periods are coordinated with municipal restoration timelines and weather conditions suitable for outdoor architectural surveying.
Library & Document Archive Hours
Our document archive and library room in central Cairo is open to accredited academic researchers during the winter research phase. During these months, the curatorial staff is available to assist with inquiries related to shipyard logs and blueprint maps.
- Winter Study Phase (October – May): Monday through Thursday, 09:30 to 16:30. Friday by appointment.
- Summer Maintenance Phase (June – September): Closed for document preservation and digitalization of archives. Remote requests accepted.
On-Site Survey Cycles
On-site architectural mapping, photogrammetry scanning, and stucco restoration studies are conducted during specific climate windows to ensure safety and precision.
"Coordinating our document studies with seasonal on-site surveys allows our curatorial teams to verify historical plans against active structural findings."
Database Update Cycles
The digital register is synchronized on a monthly basis, adding newly digitized ship logs and botanical datasets. Notice of major file updates is published on our register homepage.
