Palaces & Estates: Study Locations

Montaza Palace towers and seaside alcoves

The archive coordinates structural studies and curatorial work across three main palace sectors in Egypt. Each sector features a combination of historical document libraries and active restoration mapping sites where research teams collect marble samples, record plaster profiles, and study garden design history.

Cairo Royal Registry & Archive Room

Located in the heart of central Cairo, this library houses the blueprints, material ledgers, and historic catalogs of Cairo's dynastic residences, including Abdeen and Manial palaces. Accredited scholars can examine original 19th-century files here.

Alexandria Coastal Heritage Center

Positioned near the historic parks of Montaza in Alexandria, this station focuses on coastal palace preservation and landscape design history. The library maintains detailed ledgers documenting imported construction materials and seaside garden layouts.

"By maintaining specialized libraries in Cairo and Alexandria, we ensure that researchers have direct access to localized records and active restoration projects."

Heliopolis Villa Documentation Group

Our study group in Heliopolis focuses on early 20th-century eclectic palaces, with a primary emphasis on the concrete structure and Hindu-inspired designs of Baron Empain Palace. The facility coordinates research on regional concrete restoration methods.
